Dr. Cerato is a Pennsylvania native. He received his medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1982, and completed his family practice residency at Hospital of Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He served as an urgent care physician in Pennsylvania and in private practice in both Pennsylvania and Arizona before joining Deer Valley Family Practice in 2001.

He is board certified by the American College of Osteopathic Board of Family Practice and is a member of the American Osteopathic Association and the Arizona Osteopathic Medical Association. In 2006, Dr. Cerato was named "Physician of the Year" by John C. Lincoln Health Network.

Dr. Cerato is on staff at John C. Lincoln Deer Valley Hospital.
